The 2025 All-City Fall League opened Session 1 at Grand River Prep with three games featuring some of the city’s top young talent.
Game 1: Boom 39, Vista 6
Vista kept it close early, trailing by just 12 at halftime, but free throw struggles (2-for-13 in the first half) proved costly. Boom’s full-court pressure wore them down and turned the game into a runaway in the second half.
Game 2: West Michigan Premier 44, All-In 2031 25
All-In, the youngest team in the field, battled through stretches and showed fight with timely runs. But West Michigan Premier’s size and physicality set the tone, as their ability to attack downhill and finish around the rim created separation.
Game 3: Next Up 40, Work 36
Next Up closed out the night with a strong showing, pulling out a four-point win over Work. The matchup stayed within single digits most of the way, with both teams trading baskets and defensive stops. In the final minutes, Next Up’s timely finishes around the rim and ability to string together key stops sealed the victory
Performer Notes
- Elijah Dorsey (Next Up): Dorsey dictated tempo with advanced pace control, using change-of-speed attacks to collapse the defense and finish with either hand. He showed composure in traffic, converted tough angles around the rim, disrupted passing lanes defensively, and consistently made the right read under pressure.
- Toby Farley (West Michigan Premier): Traveling in from Crown Point, Indiana, Toby displayed a complete two-way game, generating paint touches, knocking down shots off pin-downs, and finishing through contact. He defended with physicality, created kick-out opportunities for teammates, and showed a polished feel on both ends.
