Grand Rapids, Michigan-Three weeks into the summer league, one thing has become clear: the game is slowing down for these young athletes. The nerves from Week 1 are gone, and players are beginning to trust their instincts. Ball movement has improved, decision-making is sharper, and creativity is starting to show on both ends of the floor. As the regular season comes to a close, several teams have established their identity while others are building momentum heading into tournament week.
Champions Division (9–11U)
NYBA White (2-1) def. NYBA Black (1-2), 50-23
From the opening tip, NYBA White controlled the game with relentless defensive pressure and unselfish offense. Noah Sanders set the tone early, attacking with confidence while the team consistently moved the ball to create quality scoring opportunities.
Defensively, White anticipated passing lanes, closed driving gaps, and limited second-chance opportunities. Their communication and effort on that end fueled another impressive victory heading into tournament play.

NYBA Red (3-0) def. NYBA Blue (0-3), 36-26
For three quarters, this was a competitive, back-and-forth battle before NYBA Red separated themselves late in the fourth quarter.
Bobby Springer Jr. continues to be one of the hottest players in the division, consistently making winning plays. Legend Williams and Makhai Calvert continue to provide valuable scoring and energy, while Red’s chemistry continues to improve each week. Their willingness to share the basketball and involve every teammate has become one of their biggest strengths.

Legacy Division (12–14U)
NYBA Black (3-0) def. NYBA White (0-3), 38-35
The game of the day featured the undefeated NYBA Black squad, and once again they found a way to win.
Through three weeks, Ahmond Green has played like the frontrunner for Summer League MVP. His consistency on both ends of the floor continues to elevate his team.
When the game tightened in the fourth quarter, Jax Balulis delivered several huge plays to help rally NYBA Black down the stretch. Brady Brown also impacted the game with timely rebounds, physical finishes around the basket, and numerous hustle plays that don’t always appear in the box score.
NYBA White had multiple opportunities to steal the game. Their improved ball movement created quality looks throughout the afternoon, showing just how much growth this group has made over the course of the three weeks.

NYBA Red (2-1) def. NYBA Blue (1-2), 44-22
With NYBA Blue playing short-handed, NYBA Red took full advantage from the opening possession.
Rey Medina Jr. controlled the glass all evening, while Jackson Larson consistently finished possessions around the rim. In the backcourt, Kalin Guyton and Aaron Johnson Jr. provided strong guard play that kept the offense flowing.
Now fully healthy, NYBA Red appears to be finding its rhythm at exactly the right time heading into tournament week.
