Grand Rapids, MI-The final week of the All-City Fall League wrapped up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, marking a strong finish to another fall season. It was great to see young players show up each week and compete, regardless of the outcome. The matchup everyone had circled delivered, as Boom and West Michigan Premier went head-to-head in a battle that capped off an exciting fall session.
Midwest 38 – Work 61
Midwest kept it close for about a quarter and a half before Work ramped up its sense of urgency. Work found rhythm offensively and strung together a 12-0 run that opened the game up. Midwest continued to make the right reads and move the ball, but a string of turnovers allowed Work to control the pace and separate down the stretch.
Huskies 29 – Grit 15
The Huskies continued to show growth throughout the league and look poised to contend this winter in charter-school play. Grit was shorthanded, missing five players due to travel program tryouts, but still competed early. The Huskies built an early lead, weathered a late first-half push, and dominated the glass with second-chance points that helped them close it out.
All In Sports 25 – Next Up 55
After a back-and-forth first quarter, Next Up raised its level of aggression and took control. Their pace, defensive pressure, and transition play turned the game in their favor as they steadily pulled away.
Boom 42 – West Michigan Premier 46
The matchup the league had been waiting for all fall lived up to the hype. Boom and West Michigan Premier traded leads throughout, with neither team giving much ground. It was the closest game Premier faced all season, coming down to the small details. Premier held the edge on the glass and at the free-throw line — two areas that ultimately swung the outcome. The atmosphere was electric, with fans engaged from start to finish, fitting for the final weekend of the fall.
