The Players Lounge: David Quinonez Jr. Shows Growth at NYBA

Young player’s work ethic and commitment stands out as he enters his second season

As the 2024-2025 season approaches, the National Youth Basketball Academy takes a moment to recognize the dedication of David Quinonez Jr. At just 7 years old, David has demonstrated a consistent work ethic and a growing love for the game.

In his first season, David played up in the second and third-grade group, attending all six basketball class sessions. His work ethic earned him  Impact Player of the Week honors. He also participated in the Jr. NBA Summer Jam, where he was one of the youngest campers, yet fully embraced the experience.

Recently, he completed his 12th workout of the offseason through NYBA’s Skillz Academy, marking another milestone in the academy as he prepares for his second season with NYBA. His coaches have been impressed with his willingness to listen and learn, traits which have made his growth throughout the summer rewarding to watch.

“We’re excited to see David’s love for the sport continue to grow this season,” added NYBA coaching staff. “We’re excited to see where that takes him.”
