2026 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Summer Jam Draft: What to Know Entering Draft Day

Grand Rapids, MI-With the 2026 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Summer Jam Draft less than 48 hours away, anticipation continues to build for one of the camp’s signature events.

The Fourth Annual Summer Jam Draft Day will take place Monday, June 22 at 6 p.m. inside the Davenport University Student Center, where campers will officially learn which NBA and WNBA franchises they’ll represent throughout the week.

As Draft Night approaches, here’s where things stand:

  • Count on a familiar collection of franchises. Thirteen NBA teams and four WNBA teams will make up this year’s field, continuing a tradition that has become a staple of the Summer Jam experience.
  • The Jr. NBA side features a balanced mix of established powers, historic franchises and emerging contenders. The Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards will all be represented.
  • The Jr. WNBA division returns with four franchises. The Atlanta Dream, Dallas Wings, Golden State Valkyries and Indiana Fever round out this year’s group.
  • For returning campers, Draft Day has become one of the most anticipated moments of the week. For newcomers, it’s often the first opportunity to experience the energy and excitement that have helped define Summer Jam over the last four years.
  • Every player enters Monday night without a team. By the end of the evening, every camper will have a franchise, teammates and a clear path into the week ahead.

The Summer Jam Draft has evolved significantly since its introduction. What began as a creative way to assign teams has become one of the event’s defining traditions, bringing together players, families and coaches before competition officially begins.

The experience mirrors many of the elements that make professional Draft Night memorable. Players discover their teams, families celebrate alongside them and rivalries begin to take shape before the first game is ever played.

Summer Jam officially tips off Monday morning.
